Wahey!

Spent the day at my mother in laws' yesterday, after it rained so hard we decided against chugging up the motorway. She did offer me many naughty foods, but thankfully my head is screwed firmly back on and I simply wasn't interested (yay)! Went to weigh in today, despite the horrid rain, and was very pleased to see 14stone 11lb on the scale. I've got well into that next stone bracket, and it feels so good to be back in control before things went spiralling up again.

Not the 199 I wanted for my birthday, but it's a whole halfway closer than it was last week! If I can lose just over 2lbs a week now for the next 14 weeks, I'll hit my New Year target anyway, which would be AMAZING. (To get to 175lbs/overweight BMI rather than obese). I'm wanting 3.5lbs this week though, get me down to a BMI of under 35. Meeting today would have been on activity, but my leader was poorly :( - still, meant I got to get to the gym for a workout. Pushed hard again today and feel really pleased with myself.

Hard day was hard

but I didn't let 'my weekend be my weak end', as my leader loves to say.

Gym last night was tough going, had to really push myself and didn't get the distance I expected on cardio, still I did it. Upped my weights a little too, so not all bad.

We're meant to be off to see Elephants tomorrow at Whipsnade, need to plan and make myself some decent food to take with. Could do with a gentle stroll tourist-style.

Triathlon musings

Wednesdays' gym session was great, having managed to do a decent session last week, falling ill, I wanted to really beat those times. Really pushed on the bike, and did 10minutes at 18mph. Matched my PB on the rowing machine and finally managed to complete a run on the treadmill without stopping because my shin hurt.

I want to try to aim towards being able to complete a Super Sprint triathlon inside an hour. That's a 10km bike, 2.5km run and 400m swim (16 lengths of the pool). I'm pretty sure I could be doing the bike & run inside 40 minutes in the next month - but the swim, hahahahahaha. Yeh, that's going to take some more work.

Yesterday was lovely and relaxed. I got lots of cleaning done, cleared out the clutter from the kids' room so it's all totally tidied, put fresh sheets on and the kids were full of appreciative noises for the increased playing space. Went for a stroll along to Sainsburys, gave the kids a bit of money each to spend, they all got a book and a toy (unicorn family for Maya and Anya, Lego for Seth and Kai picked a puzzle set) and grabbed the household bits I needed. Then we spent our remaining money on fruit, I found some lovely berries and the boys picked out a pineapple and watermelon. Rambled back through the nature reserve and got stuff put away for when Sam came in. He came back with his sister and they'd brought home freshly cooked pizza from her hubbys' mobile pizzeria which the kids' wolfed down before munching through the fruit they'd bought. ^_^ Happy day.

The stuff of the last fortnight of busy..

Tues 4th - Rhinoboy back to Rugbytots, beginning to believe 'summer' is over, though it's beautiful warm and sunny! MIL not yet back from caravanning around country, so took all 4 along to rugby. Gym in the evening.

Weds 5th - My day of freeness - spent it doing some DIY on the battered walls of the house (first go with filler with rhinoboy following me around and making finger holes everywhere!! Dyed hairs on me and girls, all in all a lazy day.

Thurs 6th - Watched too much BBT in the evening. Seth ordered chinese for us as well. I may have eaten more mongolian lamb than should be legal.

Fri 7th - Spent the day lugging furniture around my bedroom, reorganising the vivaria and bookshelves. Spent 5 hours altogether sweating like a beast. Baby giant african land snails hatch, much excitement. Get Emoboy to his first swimming lesson of the term, much excitement. Didn't get to gym as lost track of time doing furniture removal stuffs. Probably burnt the calories and more anyway!

Sat 8th - Took the girls to the first dance lesson of term. Had just finished writing cheque for £200 when the helper brought them out to me, crying (them, not her) saying they didn't like it. Awh! Maya hated it because - Anya was whinging and the lady had cold hands, and she wants to do Rugbytots. Anya hated it because her 'head hurt, the children were stamping too loud and it was that she didn't want to go to dancing school anymore because it really scary because she don't know' 

Went to Tulleys' Maize Maze in the afternoon and spent a HOT couple of hours mooching about finding angry birds and watching the kids bounce on things.

Sun 9th - Had a visit from my driving teacher & his wife and their gorgeous new baby boy! Lotsa snuggles and feeling broody and promising myself I will lose the weight so I can entertain the idea of more kidlets. Watched the Paralympics marathon and closing ceremony and realised that despite my pessimism, I have enjoyed London 2012.

Mon 10th - Set off to go to the Olympic/Paralympic parade, before realising that it was a daft, daft idea. Sam had been at hospital for his colonoscopy (yeowch) so we went back home and spent the afternoon with him and MIL watching the parade on tv. Back to Beavers in the evening for a games/welcome night with 6 n00bs, then gym after.

Tues 11th - Rhinoboy to rugbytots again, had to get a lot more involved this week because the new coach said the word 'crashing' yikes. Spent the afternoon at MILs and had tea there, did avoid eating 'naughty' food, but had killer headache and craving chocolate - of course this meant that I got the "Are you Preggers!??!" line, but no. 15day period says otherwise.

Weds 12th - Another humpday housework day - sorting paperwork and ordering new printer as my 'new school year' splurge. Spent some time with Kai looking at his motor skills to work out what we want to focus on when he starts his group OT sessions in a couple weeks. Gym in the evening, though I was still feeling rough from the day before and had a real pain in my lower back.

Thurs 13th - ILL. Seriously rough. Sam as well. Nasty virus. Yuck. Ate crap and slept.

Fri 14th - Took Seth to swimming, just. Stood and watched and felt awful as he did an EXCELLENT swim. Sam and the others stayed home, we ate crap again. I called in sick to gym. Though we did walk back up the hill of doom.

Sat 15th - slowly got up and got ready to head to Wembley. Still not feeling right at all, but really didn't want to miss taking the smalls to their first Tigers' game. We had 3rd row seats and though Seth played minecraft and Anya slept, we had a fab day out.

Sun 16th - Sam took Seth to local rugby club to join up for the minis' (current England captain is a former Warl mini, they excitedly tell me) and then after a very naughty lunch of buttery mash, beans and burger buns 0_0 we then all went for a 'family swim' which was actually really bloody lovely. Despite me having to face the trauma of my body in wet lycra.

I've wobbled, as of Monday I was up 4lbs (but in 3 weeks of not tracking 50% of the time (at least) eating wheat and not going to meetings, that's not as bad as it could be!)

I have stuck to going to the gym, and been active. I have kept on top of my home and kids' schedules. I have also been poorly and eaten wheat in a 'woe is me' moment. (a 5 day long moment).

So, Monday morning, still not 100% but weighed in at 215lbs. Went to the gym and did my full work out, then came home and gutted the fridge before going to shop for restock of good foods. In the evening I went with Beavers to the fire station. I stuck to my PP and stayed off wheat.

Tuesday I walked miles taking the brood to Reigate and playing Rugby with Rhinoboy, walked home up the big hill rather than getting the train an extra stop and catching the bus back like I usually would (saving £1.35 and earning 2-3 AP!) Stuck to PP and stayed wheat free.

This morning I jumped on the scales and I am down to 211lbs again already :) I'm not going to manage to get 11.5lbs off for next week (my birthday goal) but I reckon I can get to under 210 and out of the 15stone bracket. :)

Catch up ^_^

I've not disappeared, just been a busy week - on Wednesday I took Seth to see Brave at the cinema, really loved the film and enjoyed spending some time one on one with my biggest boy. Unfortunately I did a stoopid and bought Revels, wheat. Have been in pain ever since. Arse. Really need to make wheat avoidance a bigger deal.

Sam went out with my brother in the evening to celebrate (my brother) passing his bus driving test. I stayed in and drank a latte made by my very grown-up 7 year old, while watching the Paralympic opening ceremony. Felt very excited to go watch some Athletics a few days later.

Thursday was spent cleaning up the basement ready for Kai's new bed to arrive (the room is being turned into kid-dorm room, girls wanting to be 'big' and move out of our bed, so they've got the double under-bunk, Seth in the top single, Kai in a trundle bed. Went to the gym in the evening and got good and sweaty -

Blue Moon Sleeping
Friday the beds arrived and I spent hours lugging flatpack about and changing all the bedding (I HATE bed changing, HATE IT). 2 whole loads of laundry just from *their* bedding. I spent a good 4-5 hours deep cleaning the room, the carpet is knackered after 4 years of small children and damp, but other than that and the walls needing a good clean/repaint, it's lovely for them now.

Gym that night was cancelled as my mum felt unwell, so watched a film with Sam as the kids slept downstairs (blue moon that night!) Maya woke at 3am and wouldn't resettle, so I spent the rest of the night sleeping diagonally across their bed, leaving my back in agony :(



Saturday we were up and out to Regents' Park. Met our friends to do the Green Olympic Mascot trail and have a picnic, then visit the Zoo! It was great fun, my pedometer logged us walking 12 miles. The kids fell asleep on our mad dash home across London, to get back in time for my mum's birthday dinner at our local pub. Sam had ordered me a chicken salad which looked boring, but after a LONG day was lush.



Sunday I woke feeling AWFUL. Cross, and in pain, and tearful and..oh, yeh. Of course. I am a twenty-something female. Used MANY weekly points to stifle the bitchiness with chocolate. It helped.

Today we were up early again, out of the house at 6.30am to get to the Olympic Village to see the Athletics! It was HOT, but we had a good time. I even managed to quickly meet an online friend (Hey Tat!) Seeing the amazing athletes do their thing was totally inspiring. The atmosphere in the place was amazing, and I kept saying to Sam how *friendly* all the volunteers were! The kids have spent the rest of the day 'playing' olympians. We had a mooch around the site, went via DLR to Princess Royal to use the Emirates Cable Car to get across to Greenwich. Well worth the fare, brilliant views and so much more fun the the *extortionate* London Eye, ha!

I felt really wrung out by the afternoon and collapsed on the sofa when I got in, but Sam remembered to grab BBT series 5 which was released today, so I'm now sat with a cuppa and the DVD while the halflings sleep.

Back to 'normal' tomorrow, term starts for us (autonomous educators that we are, outside classes/activities still mean we have a routine/schedule in the term time!) I haven't tracked properly for the last two days, but have written off my weeklies for this week and figure that should do it :)
